THEY DON’T DESERVE MERCY WHEN THE TRUTH TRAMPLES THEM

They did not deserve my child.

They did not deserve her last word and her last breath.

They do not deserve the benefit of the doubt.

There is no doubt.

They have killed her.

And yet they have gone to great lengths to create doubt.

And they have succeeded with many.

They continue to do so because they are without courage.

Without the courage to admit what they did.

And to help me and us and our community move through grief.

By showing what accountability looks like.

But their path is without thoughts for us.

Without thoughts for her, for Roxie.

Without thoughts for our family.

Without thoughts for our community.

All of whom grieve and miss a widely beloved little girl.

A little girl whose primary mission was to place smiles on faces.

To place her arms around others who may need that embrace.

Instead, here we are.

Forever without her embrace.

They didn’t deserve our child.

And they don’t deserve mercy when the truth tramples them.
